The Pharma Accountability Project
(TPAP) is a grassroots watchdog exposing how pharmaceutical companies shape media narratives, public policy, and your perception of health.
What We Stand For
We believe Americans deserve:
- Affordable prescription medications
- Transparent healthcare policies
- Accountability from powerful corporations
- A healthcare system that prioritizes people over profits
AMERICANS WANT CHANGE
Pharmaceutical companies claim they can’t afford to lower drug prices, while spend billions every year on direct-to-consumer (DTC) advertising. TPAP recently polled Americans to learn what they thought of DTC drug advertisements.
01.
21% of Americans surveyed say they have talked with a doctor about specific drugs because of an advertisement.
02.
56% of Americans surveyed agree that DTC advertising causes patients to receive drugs that may not be necessary.
03.
51% of Americans support a ban on DTC advertising and 48% of Americans support stricter regulation on DTC advertising.
TIME TO BAN DTC
TPAP is fighting pharma’s influence in healthcare by introducing the BAN DTC Act: Banning Advertising of Narcotics Direct-To-Consumers. This bill would prohibit pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, and sponsors from engaging in direct-to-consumer advertising of prescription drugs across television, radio, and digital platforms. The BAN DTC Act hopes to help lower drug prices and restores trust in healthcare.
Our Team
Fighting for Accountability. Together.
TPAP is powered by advocates, researchers, creators, and everyday Americans committed to exposing the forces driving high prescription drug prices and giving patients a voice.
